Introducing the JOSEPHT TAL, a black derby from our premium JOSEPHT line, made for those who want a dress shoe with character that grows with every wear.

Horween Chromexcel Leather

The upper is crafted from Chromexcel (CXL) cowhide by Horween Leather Company of Chicago, one of the oldest and most respected tanneries in the USA. Chromexcel is double-tanned, combining chrome tanning with vegetable re-tanning, which gives it its signature mix of suppleness, durability and deep, rich colour.

The leather is known for its natural pull-up effect: as it flexes, subtle shifts in tone appear across the surface. Over time the TAL develops a unique patina, so no two pairs age quite the same way.

Comfort & Durability

A full cowhide leather lining adds structure and comfort, and gradually moulds to the shape of your foot for a more personal fit the longer you wear it.

Grip & Longevity

The outsole combines a leather sole with a Dr. Sole rubber layer, preserving the refined profile of a leather-soled derby while adding dependable traction and wear resistance for daily use.

Timeless & Versatile

The classic derby silhouette in black Chromexcel moves easily between settings. Pair it with tailored trousers for the office, chinos for smart-casual days, or denim and workwear for a more rugged look.

Where It's Made

Designed in Korea by JOSEPHT and crafted in China by a partner workshop we selected for its experience with premium leather footwear. The JOSEPHT TAL is built with the same top-tier materials as the rest of our premium line, starting with Horween Chromexcel from the USA.

The JOSEPHT TAL brings together Horween leather, a practical outsole and a clean derby design in a shoe built for long-term wear.

To ensure the perfect fit:

• We recommend ordering a half size down from your usual sneaker size.
  (Example: If you usually wear US 8 in sneakers, we suggest ordering US 7.5).

Most of our products ship directly from South Korea. Delivery usually takes around 2 weeks, including handling and international shipping.

Order status explained:

• Unfulfilled: Your order may be waiting for restock or is being prepared (usually within 2–4 days).
• Fulfilled: Your order has shipped from Korea. Tracking may show “label created” at first, but it’s already on the way. Once the local courier receives it, tracking updates will begin.

Pre-orders: We restock every 1–2 months, not once a year. Feel free to check with our team for the estimated shipping date.

• A shipping fee applies to international orders.
• Exchanges: Customers are responsible for both the return shipping and the shipping fee for the new pair.
• Remorse Returns: For a simple remorse return, a return fee will apply.

Premium items exchange / return requirements:

JosephT TAL Black is made with premium leather (Chromexcel) and Goodyear welt construction, so returns and exchanges are accepted only for items in unworn, sellable condition. Refunds and exchanges depend on the condition of the shoes on arrival.

• Try the shoes on indoors on a soft surface only (carpet, rug). Please do not walk on hard floors or outdoors.
• Shoes must be free of creases, scuffs, and sole marks.
• Shoes must be returned complete, in the original box and packaging, with all included items.
• Please take photos and a short video of your shoes when they arrive, and before sending them back, so we can resolve any issue quickly and fairly. Return requests without photos or video may be delayed or declined.
